Upper South Woodburn Reservoir
Upper South Woodburn is one of four reservoirs in the mainly
coniferous Woodburn Forest. They are all very popular for fishing,
with the Upper South dam being stocked with brown trout. I have
seen a number of spawning brown trout in a stream near this cache,
and otters have also been spotted in the area. The forest is very
popular with people walking, jogging and occasionally driving
scramblers and quads (although you will hear these long before you
see them). There are many paths through the forest which make for
very enjoyable walks.
Parking
The recommended parking area is on the Slievetrue Road.
The Cache
The cache itself is a small tab-lock container containing a log
book, pencil, pencil sharpener and a few small swaps.
