The road on which this cache is hidden was for many years named Slaughter House Road. The name was a natural, because of the location of the slaughtering house that previously stood very close to this cache. The cache is located on the road bed of one of the two major railroads that served the Lebanon area in years past.
This railroad property is believed to be a proposed section of The Farm Heritage Trail. The FHT is a proposed multi-use trail along the former Big Four rail corridor between Zionsville and Lafayette, highlighting Indiana's rich agricultural heritage while providing a conduit for transportation, recreation, tourism and appropriately-scaled economic development.
You can pull off the road and park within afew feet of the cache, so this should be a park and grab.
The cache container is fairly small, with little or no room for trade items. Be sure to bring your own pencil.
