Geocache Description:

This series of caches are in memory of our Golden Retriever, Jason who had a true Golden Fleece. He would have loved this walk as it contains all the elements he loved (and a few he didn’t).

Jason, is the mythical son of Aison, the former King of Ioleus. Jason’s, power hungry brother, Pelias, assumed control of the throne but Jason returned to assert his right to the throne. On his way to Ioleus he is tested by the goddess Hera – who begs for his assistance to cross a stream. Jason rises to the challenge and carries Hera across the stream impressing her so much she makes it her duty to help him on his challenge. It is now your task to repeat Jason’s challenge – which will test your ingenuity, determination and perseverance but the rewards will be truly worthwhile. The challenge is made up of 10 parts. You need to achieve ALL the individual tasks to have any chance of finding The Golden Fleece. Refer to GC1PM42 The Golden Fleece for info on the Multi Cache. After Jason’s Jaunt # Stage 1. make your way SE across the field avoiding the boggy bits in the middle (unless you have a strange attraction to wet bits, we know WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU LIVE !!!!). Take the footpaths parallel to the River eventually exiting onto the narrow roadway near the Sewage Works. ( See I told you it would be challenging). Turn NW and take the footpath to Dorothy Farrer’s Spring Wood on the North side of the road. Just before you enter the woodland you will have to overcome your second challenge.…..The Clashing Rocks. You must record the clue in the log book to stand any chance of finding The Golden Fleece.
