For those of you that know me, I'm going to be a father very soon (as of making this post). And what way to bring in a new geocacher by throwing her a camp out!
Location: County Park.
Date: Saturday May 30 to the 31
Time: NOON
Wonderful location between St. Croix Falls and Turtle Lake, Wisconsin just off of Hwy. 8. stay to enjoy the company, caching, and fireside caching stories.
This park (even though the rules say "No Camping") has a bunch of camp sights that are $10.00 a night. All the sights are real nice and hiding in some softwood woods. the sights looked as if you could fit at least 2 tents in each, so bunk up with a friend. Very close to the coordinates, is a self pump fresh water pump. So there is plenty of H2O. Otherwise, the camp area is just off to the right of the above cords.
Plan to start Saturday morning with some caffiene in your favorite beverage, discuss the days caching plans. There will be caches available along the hiking trails. Not sure if we are going to toss out some perms or what yet. BUT I promise there will be some caching going on.
We hope to tire you out with all the caching. So, plan for a self prepared meal, then fireside chats.

If you don't like primitive camping there are a few motels and hotels both in St. Croix Falls and Turtle Lake. I think Amery Wi. has one or two too.
Evening meal will be a potluck.
Potluck guidelines: All planning on enjoying a meal are to bring a main dish/main course salad. Don't forget to bring your own beverage and utensils.

Oh yea, and for the record, Tessa Rose a.k.a gps_junky 4 is a girl and we should be meeting her on May 5th. Don't worry, Grandma is going to come get her at dark to stay at her house.
UPDATE: Tessa was born on the 3rd, which was a Sun. at about 8:00 pm. Perfect little girl. 7 lbs 11 oz.
As some may know, I am trying to hide 20ish caches around the area. I want the cachers that make the event to at least get 1 or 2 FTF so I am going to post the caches under THIS CACHE PAGE. Then after the event, they will all be permanent. Only have about 7 out there now but going to make one more trip up there this week to finish. NO CHEATING.
