Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Weltz park off of West Park Av. in Ocean Township. This is a relatively undeveloped park that's part of the Monmouth County park system.

There's two or theee trails that all meet the main trail that runs north into the park from the parking lot on West Park Av. The cache is hidden off one of these secondary paths about a hundred yards into a waist high overgrowth that borders the path. Park in the small lot off of West Park Av., take the main path due north about a quarter mile in, then turn left and head due west for about another quarter mile. Look for 'The Big Tree' dead ahead of you as you're heading west, and this is your goal.

It's easiest if you go a bit beyond this tree as the path begins to bend back into the north direction. Look for a more convenient opening in the overgrowth just after the northbound bend and head west again w/ your eye on that 'Big Tree'.

[updated 10/17/09: go about a hundred feet north after the westward path bends to the right. the overgrowth is apparently on a healthy diet of miracle grow because it's now 8 to 10 feet high w/ freakishly long barbs sticking out all over. don't attempt to navigate thru this. a hundred feet north of the bend the growth opens up and your southwestward final approach will be much easier].

Cache is the usual place and in a typical plastic container. At the initial placement the cache contained an eclectic mix of marbles, glass beads, some modelling clay, a big fly, and a Travel Bug.
