Geocache Description:

This is an easily found cache that is only a short walk from the main car park off Main North Road or alternatively from a small car park situated near the intersection of Coppleridge Drive & Marleycombe Road.

Carisbrooke Reserve is located off Main North Road, Salisbury Park. The reserve is very large with ample car parking. This fully grassed reserve has two playground areas with shade sails covering the play equipment. There is a kitchen and undercover area that can be hired for a small fee. This area was formerly an extensive grove of citrus trees beginning the industry in Salisbury. The grounds were closely associated with Carisbrooke House and named after a town in the Isle of Wight. This is the first in a series of reserves at Salisbury Park that are linked by the Little Para River and its walking trails. Further West along the Little Para River there is also another picnic area called Harry Bowey Reserve, which includes barbeques/playground that are shaded by numerous trees.
Please attempt this cache from the bottom of the slope if approaching from the high side. Just follow the gravel path to the bottom and head in from there. This is simply to reduce the amount of foot traffic damaging the slope and to reduce the risk of a slip or fall. Also please tread very lightly whilst searching in this native revegetation area. Thanks and Enjoy!
