Geocache Description:

Go West young man

This geocache will take you on a short wander around historic West Terrance Cemetery. No graves should to be disturbed to find the information that you need. The given location is some very old graves in the Kingston Plot. No information is required here but the graves are interesting.

WP1a – Australia. What year did Carl die (18A2)? Answer = A
WP1b – Monument. What year was Carl’s monument unveiled (19B6)? Answer = B

WP2 – Between Christians and Jews. Count the number of letters in the common surname starting with R in this small fenced plot? Answer = C

WP3 – Earth Quaking. How many seats around the tree? Answer = D

WP4 – There will be tears. There are five cast flowers on the monument. How many flowers in the largest group? Answer = E

WP5 – Accidental. Last year that the drummer boy lived (193F)? Answer = F

WP6 – Rest, we forget. How many sides on the plinth at base of the cross? Answer = G

WP7 – Not facing east. I was a subject. Count the number of letters? Answer = H

Now that you collected this information please go to s34 5A.BCD, e138 3E.FGH. From these coordinates you will need to project a distance 170m at a bearing 15 degrees true to find the actual physical location of this cache.

West Terrace Cemetery is the oldest in Adelaide. Perhaps the most famous resident is acclaimed composer Percy Grainger. Percy Grainger's tomb is located at gravesite number 11 on row 8E of Road 1 North, close to the main entrance of the cemetery.

Another interesting grave is the Unknown Man found on Somerton Beach, Section: Plan 3 Row Number: 12 Site Number: 106.
