After
being given a not so gentle nudge by the SY Massive, we thought we
had better get our backsides in gear & organise CCVII, so here
it is. This year we have decided on a change of venue from previous
events, the "do" will be at the Market Hotel, Elsecar. The Market
is a traditional old style "Boozer" with various small rooms, the
beer selection is second to none.

It
has won CAMRA pub of the season several times & usually has at
least 6 real ales on at any one time. The landlord has a £2 per
pint policy for all the handpulled beers. Hot food is not normally
served, but just for us the landlord is putting on Pie & Peas.
These can be paid for on the day but you MUST make a note in
your "will attend" note if you require pie & peas & how
many. I have to inform the landlord how many portions we require at
the latest 2 weeks before the event. The cut off for food orders
therefore is 28th November. Dogs are welcome, as are well
behaved children.
The
pub is on bus route 66 from Barnsley. Elsecar railway station is on
the Barnsley / Sheffield line & is a 5min walk. If anyone wants
to set caches for the day, please feel free. We aim to meet around
noon, due to the short days I would recommend doing any local
caches in the morning before meeting up for
lunch.
DON'T FORGET TO ORDER YOUR PIE & PEAS IN YOUR "WILL ATTEND"
NOTE BEFORE 28th NOVEMBER
Wherigo!!!
Billyrover has built a mystery Wherigo cache to celebrate
the event. The cache will be published just before the
event.
To find the cache you
will have to solve the crime, by meeting characters and solving
clues.
To play this cache you will
however need some specific equipment either the Garmin Colorado or
Oregon.

Or a GPS enabled Pocket PC
or GPS Windows Mobile Phone.
To be able to play the Cartridge you need to have the latest
software on your Garmin or the Wherigo software on your Pocket PC,
and to download the Cartridge from the Wherigo Web site:
www.wherigo.com
Do not
forget to put this event page on your watch list and Billyrover
will keep you up to date when the downloads are available.
You won't be able to play the cartridge until the day of the event,
it will however then be available to play indefinitely. Any
technical questions, please send to:
Billyrover
The Geocache will be
published on GC.com in the normal way, but to be able to find it,
you will have needed to be prepared with the cartridge. If
anyone has any spare equipment to loan out contact Billyrover or if
you would like to lend any also contact
Billyrover.
