Geocache Description:

This is the third of three on a pleasant 4 mile walk from Morton through lovely Nottinghamshire countryside. A good dog walk, but larger dogs may have a problem at some stiles. Terrain is gently undulating and mostly footpath and bridleway - can get muddy. Nice views of Southwell Minster in places.

This is one of my favourite walks and when I noticed there were no geocaches in this area I thought I would plant a few and share this walk with you all.
You can park at the Full Moon Pub at Morton ( if you intend to patronise it - or park in the village) Coordinates are:
N 53.03.238
W. 000.55.081
Leave the village on the lane to the SSW and keep right at the triangle. Cross the railway and follow the track up the slight hill. Turn right at the entrance to the field and then left up along the nearside of the hedgerow. Follow the hoof tracks!
This first cache gives a sneaky peek at the 'pepperpots' - the lead pyramid spires of the Southwell Minsters west front. Look to the NW.
Follow the footpath to the Halloughton Dumble (stream) where you will find this second cache 'Dumble Bridge 1'
The word 'dumble' is used only in Southwell and is an ancient tree lined stream. The word possibly originates in Zimbabwe!
Follow the footpaths N and E until you hit Crink Lane. Turn right and walk past the Crink Lane Nursery. At the allotments on a sharp LH bend cut through the allotments and find the footpath across the field to Pollards Lane ( say hi to the hens and horses!)
Turn right on Pollards Lane and walk past some nice houses. After a bit of a zig-zag take the footpath left/east across the fields. Again, follow the hoof tracks and find this third cache 'Dumble Bridge 2'. There is an Easter Egg for the FTF!
Continue on the footpaths SE and walk across the railway into the back of Morton village - passing the Morton Pound, where stray animals used to be kept until the fine was paid.

I heartily recommend a pint at the lovely pub, if not a Moon Burger! Its been revamped recently and is much better than it was.
