Essential dates for your
diary
19th - 21st June 2009
We have booked the rally field at
Hardwick
Park, just south of Witney. With the ever organised Mad H@ter
and muddly legs leaving the county, it looked as if there would be
no camping event this year in Oxfordshire.
I decided that there had to be
something this year but it wont be the same as the masters of
camping and caching.
Harwick Park is a part of a large
Watersports centre. It has good facilities, with clean toilets and
lots of showers and is very well kept with friendly and welcoming
owners. The site has its own club house with licenced premises; a
nice well provisioned shop with cafe and awesome bacon butties and
weekend breakfasts or you can drive about 4 miles to Witney for a
full range of shopping. The welcome pack will have details and
coords we hope when you arrive.
Rally prices apply for extended stays
associated with the event.
Day visitors welcome for Saturday
evening but we need to know numbers in advance please.
Caches a plenty planned with Witney
having over 20 caches at the time of publishing - there are 35
caches within 5 miles of the site and Oxford is only a few miles
down the road.
All ideas for extras greatfully
accepted.
If you intend to come to this event
please can you log your intentions below, and please include
whether you are camping, if you require electric, which nights you
are camping and how many is in your party. I suggest you add this
page to your watch list as you will then be automatically notified
when we add any updates.
angellica has kindly agreed to be
Auntie Hazel this year, so watch this space kids :)
Turner Tribe are setting caches along
the Thames near by and I have heard of another set being set Stucuk
around Deer Park locally too .. so squillions of new caches for
sure
Tariff
No deposit will be required and bookings will be done by us and
passed onto the campsite.
The price is an inclusive charge per pitch with no extra
charges.
There are a few minor
rules
that we will need to abide by but I'm sure they won't be a problem,
will they?
The
following cachers have booked for camping, if there is a mistake or
we have missed you off please let us know ASAP. Hookups are now
restricted to 4 and I have confirmed numbers with the campsite. If
you have last minute changes PLEASE tell me this weekend so I can
possibly make things happen.
I am trying
to prepare a welcome pack and will post links here as soon as this
is done. Everyone needs to pray for the weather ... and I hear
Peter and Jo are hosting the Church service on Sunday morning too
(after all their pitch is "specially selected" )
Our new
caches will go live on Friday we hope or perhaps a little earlier
so that you can pick up the waypoints in readiness, failing this
there is site wide WiFi I am told !!!
Look out for
the 2 quiet unassuming folks that might just celebrate a huge 4000
this weekend ... you will recognise them by the BIG smiles and
Chester tagging along :)
