Geocache Description:

This is an ammo box cache placed in tribute to my grandpa who, along with my father, taught me the value of hard work.

Please put it back just like you found it. And no need to go close to the edge! Be safe!!

Many, many years ago, he purchased a property here in St. George and I have visited here often ever since I was a child. One of my favorite activities then was to "climb the mountain". Now I bring my kids here and we enjoy the same mountain together. So this time when we climbed it, we put this cache at the "tippy top". We like to climb up from the residential area at the corner of 900 North and 600 West. Its not as bad as it looks from below, but does involve some rock hopping. My sons ages 3, 6, and 8 all make it to the top no problem. There is an easier (and longer) way up around back through the draw from the golf course.

This is a toolbox themed cache. I will try to keep useful "tools" of various sorts stocked every time I visit. No need to trade. Feel free to take ONE item (per person). Enjoy!

Initial contents are:

  • My unactivated personal Wood Badge totem geocoin as a gift for the FTF.
  • An activated Wood Badge totem geocoin for trading.
  • 4 screwdrivers
  • a bunch of small clamps
  • 8 sharpie pens
  • carabeener
  • 2 packs velcro ties
Congratulations to Soutah and MrZcacher for the FTF!
