Walk and cache details
A series of 19 caches on a 4 ½ mile (approx 7.2km) woodland walk through Monkdown Woods and Bredhurst Hurst.
You are looking for a 35mm film container.
Secured by safety chain, take care when removing.
Ensure cache is hanging inside, on cradle, securely attached to chain and well hidden.
If any problems with this cache, please log maintenance.
Information
The woods have been the subject of considerable restoration over recent years to remove fly-tipping.
Volunteers have cleared away every trace of fly-tipping and Bredhurst Hurst now looks cared for and is being enjoyed by an increasing number of walkers and horse riders.
Details of the work can be found on Bredhurst Woodland Action Group web site.
Many of the paths can be quite muddy even in the summer so good boots are recommended.
An explorer map 148 will help with navigation, however additional waypoints are provided below to help guide you along the route.
After Monkdown Meander #08 turn left and cross the field to the top left corner, When you reach the road turn left. The cache is a few yards along the road on the left.
Once this cache has been located, continue along the road and turn left at waypoint (w9) which is a public footpath which will take you back to the Church and parking near Monkdown Meander #01.
