MadMin: I am archiving this cache after speaking with Mike O'Hara (Director of Planning, Department of Community Planning) who let me know that the park is closed to the public while the former Central Steam Plant on Westminster St. is being demolished. They have closed the park for public safety.

Cache owners, please keep an eye on the location, and once the park has been opened to the public again, contact me in order to get your cache unarchived.

Please do NOT go after this cache as the city of Fitchburg does not want people in the park.

Geocache Description:

This cache was released for “The Great Northern Tier Geocaching Tournament 2009 – It is now available for any Geocachers who wishes to visit the cache after the event.

West Fitchburg Steamline Trail Park
This 4.15 acre park is located at 465 Westminster Street, and includes a parking lot and walking trail along the Nashua River and Flag Brook. This park is the first implementation of the City's plans to develop a network of trails along the Nashua River, connecting to trails in Leominster and Westminster.

CAUTION: KEEP AN EYE ON THE KIDS AT THIS CACHE.

I would like to thank Fitchburg Recreation Department & the Johnny Appleseed Trail Association for there assistance on the hide and for allowing us to place this cache on the property.
