Geocache Description:

Small kine cache at the historic Waialua Sugar Mill

Welcome to the old Waialua Sugar Mill! This cache was place with permission of the sugar mill.

This mill and the area is steeped in history and at one time
Sugar was king...The Mill was the lifeblood of the entire Waialua Community. Families grew up around the Sugar Mill. Plantation life was the norm. There was a plantation store and plantation housing.
There are people to this day living in plantation housing.
Many of the Sugar Mills around Oahu were demolished to make room for housing or industrial growth.
The Waialua Sugar Mill has been preserved as it once was. Shops and businesses have taken over some of the spaces once occupied by the Sugar Mill.
The coords will take you right outside the mill and the factory is open seven days a week.

Waialua has a great farmers market on Saturday mornings, with fresh vegetables, crafts, food and the friendliest local folks you’d ever want to meet! Help support the local economy and Buy Hawaii. All throughout the grounds are interesting little shops nestled into various locations of the mill. You can even watch soap being made!
Stop in and say hi to Jerry and Shannon!

There is a geocoin for FTF.

Please don't push the cache too back into its hidey hole, make sure others can reach it!! Mahalo!
