Set in proximity to historic homestead on shores of Houhora Harbour.
Location is a scenic family picnic spot with opportunity for swimming in summer. Set in park like surroundings this cache is straightforward once you have mastered the art of doing a projection and suitable for the whole family. There is a cliff near the cache at GZ so watch the small ones.
The Subritzsky homestead was built in 1860 and was the home to a wellknown pioneering family dynasty who traded and farmed this region of the Far North. To assist these activities they established a shipping company with regular services to Awanui, Mangonui and Auckland. Take the opportunity to explore the area and visit the homestead.
The location is near Houhora Heads on the west shore of Houhora Harbour and overlooked by Mt. Camel to the east.
The listed co-ordinates will bring you to the east gate entrance to the Subritzsky homestead. At this point set a projection of 105m at 9 degrees true to find the cache.
