Geocache Description:






Benge Park

The Benge family were one of the early settler families in Upper Hutt, with David Benge settling and building in the locality around 1860. A street and commercial building in Upper Hutt bare the family name, as does a small park where this cache is located.

About the cache

The cache consists of a small camo'd Sistema container that was supplied by Yeetrees as a spot prize at the Robin Hood's Rescue (GC1KEQY) Cache Event. It only has room for small trades, the odd Geocoin, and when placed contained some AAA batteries, a keyring, logsheet, pencil and sharpener.

About the location

The cache can be approached from one of three directions: Clouston Park Road, Benge Cresent or Rosina St - Either will work and parking is available at each entranceway. Please note that the park is frequented by walkers, cyclists, joggers, etc, all of whom can appear very suddenly and without warning so please show some stealth when searching for the cache.

Please also make sure that the cache is replaced *exactly* as found as we don't want this to go MIA!

I am using a log sheet for all Geocachers to record their discoveries and comments, so that when it is full, I can scan the logsheet and attach its image to this cache entry as an archive! Please let me know when the logsheet is nearing maintenance time and I will supply a new sheet.
