[Sve] Knutsbäcken

Cachen är den andra av tre i Telestadsområdet (GC1PXR9, GC1PXRJ samt GC1PXRP). Det är lämpligt att parkera vid Knutsgård (GC1PXR9) för att därefter besöka de övriga två cacharna i serien. Teleborgs naturreservat är bildat av Växjö kommun. Det är beläget i stadsdelen Teleborgs östra delar kring vattentornet och sluttningarna mot bebyggelsen i norr och Skirviken i sjön Trummen i öster. I den kuperade terrängen finns öppna fält, hagmarker, lövridåer och barrskog. Längst ner vid Skirviken ligger ett våtmarksområde som är fågelskyddsområde. Där finns två fågeltorn. Från flera platser har man en vid utsikt ner mot Växjö. I anslutning till Knutsgård (GC1PXR9), vars karaktär från omkring 1850 i stort är bevarad, finns parkeringsplats, information, vindskydd m.m. Gården utgör centrum för pedagogiskt och praktiskt arbete i skolans miljö- och kulturundervisning.

Cachen består av en 1,2 liters plastlåda innehållande loggbok, penna samt några bytessaker. Ett FTF-kort finns naturligtvis i för den snabbe!

Området kan bli MYCKET blött på våren eller efter regn så se till att ha bra på fötterna!

This cache is the second in a series of three in the Telestad area (GC1PXR9, GC1PXRJ and GC1PXRP). A good idea is to park at Knutsgård (GC1PXR9) and then visit the other two caches in the series. Teleborgs nature reserve is established by the local government of Växjö. It is situated in the eastern parts of the suburb Teleborg, close to the water tower and the downward slopes towards the rural areas in the north and the Skir bay in the Trummen lake to the east. The hilly landscape hides open fields, pastures and also deciduous and coniferous woodlands. At the Skir bay is a swampy area that also is a bird sanctuary. You can also find two bird watching towers here. From several places you have a wide view towards the Växjö city centre. Near Knutsgård (GC1PXR9), whose character from the 1850’s is mainly preserved, you will find a parking space, information, wind shelter etc. The cottage itself is a centre for educational and practical work in the environmental and cultural teaching of the local school.

The cache consists of a 1.2 litre storage jar containing a log book, a pencil and some trade items. An FTF card for the quickest person is naturally included!

The cache site can get VERY wet in spring or after rain, so be sure to wear sturdy and waterproof footwear!
