Craddock Moor
Gold Diggings Quarry, was worked until the 1930s. The main quarry is now flodded to a depth of 18m and is a popular picnic area during the summer months
It was also a favourite outing for Sunday Schools in the 19th century, when the children would travel there on the old mineral railway.
The Scottish band Travis used the quarry as a back drop for their hit single “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?”
Caution
Beware of steep cliffs and deep water. Children and dogs should be kept on a lead during lambing season. March - April
