Suggested parking is on the road running down to Spelga Dam from
the Moyad Road.
The cache can be found on Pigeon Rock mountain with views over
Spelga Dam and Slieve Muck. It is not a substantial walk but usual
care is recommended when walking in the mountains, as conditions
can change at any time.
The container is a round tupperware type, with geocaching lable
and holding logbook, stashnote, pencil and sharpener.
SONG OF THE MOURNES
Sing a song of pleasant beaches
Where the mountains meet the sea.
Sing of woods and shadowed streamlets
From the uplands bounding free.
Sing of crags against the high sky,
Shepherd's path and quarry track,
Stone fringed fields, scots pine and fuchsia,
All the things that call us back.
Sing of remote tarn and valley,
Brown bog, castellated ridge.
Sing of quiet road and loanin
Winding to a granite bridge.
Sing of gorse and rock-strewn foothills,
And of tidy homesteads where
Peace-loving, kindly people
Smile a Mourne welcome there.
