FT Randall Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

duggersd: It appears this cache has been muggled as I was unable to find it the last time I went to maintain it. I really do not want to archive it, but that seems to be the only option. I was planning to replace it next summer when I had the time. Apparently just disabling it causes someone confusion.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the old Fort Randall site.

This cache is a small plastic container. The original contents include batteries, some toys, a log book, and a pen. The cache should not be difficult to find, but when you do be sure to cover it as you found it. Also, make sure the lid is sealed properly. This cache is the first authorized cache at Ft Randall. The permit number is 09-001. The permit has been signed by the Lake Manager.

After you have found the cache, take the walking tour around the fort site. When walking around the site, be aware you may run across a rattle snake. Be careful. Be sure to check out the cemetery. If you go to the overlook above the fort site, you can see some pictures of what the river areal looked like before the dam was built. You can also read some information including some famous visitors to the fort.

There is also a refuge for bald eagles near this site. Be sure to check it out as well. Good luck and watch for muggles!
