• This is the revenge of the Queen Anne’s Revenge crew. On the shoreline, but boat required due to local geography. Follow the coordinates to the area, but don’t expect a large platform to dock your boat and get out. Standing room only here. Canoe paddlers beware of tipping. PS: Blackbeard is still trying to recover his Zippo after dropping it here.
Queen Anne’s Revenge Series
Welcome to Watson Lake. This cache is part of a series designed to be found by boat, although there are technically only 3 caches inaccessable from land (on islands or sheer cliffs). As the name of the cache suggests, each represents the treasure of a famous (or less famous but personal favorite) pirate.
WARNING: This lake is small, but can be somewhat hazardous in cold or otherwise inclement weather. Please use general caution during winter tempuratures and during summer monsoons, as high winds and freezing water tempuratures can buy you a one-way ticket to Davy Jones’ Locker.
That being said, this is a beautiful lake nestled in the dells north of Prescott. The granite in this area is scenic, but tough on hands when climbing. Our crew recommends gloves. Enjoy your trip, and keep an eye out for the Queen Anne’s Revenge, as she plunders the waters of Watson Lake.
