How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

On one of the designated paths round Crathes Castle.

You can choose either the green or red marked path to follow on this loop round the top end of the Crathes Castle estate.

These are well laid out and marked paths, but due to the terrain are probably not brilliant for buggies. The caches that are up here are set on the lesser used of the paths [another reason for placing them up here.]

Following the green path up past the ice house also allows you the chance to take in the viewpoint out over 'Caroline's Garden' and to hills in the distance.

The reason for the name of this cache, well opposite the cache's hiding place are a whole series of different pine/fir trees from around the world, all well established having been planted many years ago now and each with their own board showing where they originated from.

Once you've done this cache, follow the green/red trail round to the second of the caches placed up here.

As this cache is literally just off the path, can you please re-hide in exactly the same way so that it isn't accidentally discovered.

Thanks once again goes to the Scottish National Trust Rangers for permission in placing these caches.
