Geocache Description:

Located in Ottaway Park in the town of Westfield, across from the KOA Kampground.

For centuries the sealed bronze vase was hidden deep in the dark catacombs of the Spanish castle monastery. And as the prophecy was foretold, it was buried in brimstone, the only substance known to subdue the evil spirit within. It was to remain there until drastic world events would require it to be opened.

In 1937 a violent Civil War in Spain was devastating the country. The Spanish Fascist with there German Nazi allies were becoming very interested in the mountain top stone castle and the rumors surrounding it. The priests protecting it decided something should be done before it was too late. The decision was made to hide it somewhere abroad until it would be safe to return.

An armada left Lisbon in September where two hurricanes were unusually forming in the North Atlantic. All the boats turned and safely made it back to port. One desperate ship continued, followed closely behind by a German submarine.

Weeks later a much damaged, distressed boat, with what was left of its badly suffering crew limped into Montreal harbor, where its cargo was immediatly transferred to a freight barge heading south amidst a violent storm.

No one knows for sure what happened. It was thought its destination was to be one of the many Monastery's in South America.

20 years after the end of the Second World War, in 1965, documents from Nazi spies working in Mexico City were uncovered. A translation from the deadly interrogation of a Spanish priest was as follows:

"Leave it alone,
Don't follow the clue.
The world is safe,
The prophecy remains true.

No information can be found,
On any ledger.
Your answer lies,
With Betty Hedger."
