The cache is located about a 100yds from the Wilmslow Rd entrance to Didsbury Park, only a metre or so from the main path. I have added a disposable camera and would love to see pics of people who stop by :-) Please note there is only room in the cache for the camera and log book.
Didsbury Park is a community park located amongst residential housing in the East Didsbury, within close proximity to Old Parsonage Gardens and Fletcher Moss Gardens.
In 2008, Didsbury Park was awarded a Green Flag Award for achieving the national standard for parks and green spaces.
This park was one of the first municipal planned parks in the city, redesigned in the 1920s to include recreational features for residents, some of which still exist.
The site mainly consists of amenity grassland, woodland and flora. The park is thought to have an old air-raid shelter underneath the football pitch.
The park is used mainly for dog walking, recreational play, bowling by local residents and Didsbury Park Ladies Bowling Club, and by the Friends of Didsbury Park (external website). The bowling pavilion is frequently used by veterans for social activities, and local schools use the park for their sports/fun day events and physical education lessons. An annual one day Didsbury Festival procession takes place in the park in May.
