Hidden Valley Passage: Dead Wood

This cache is located on the Hidden Valley Passage Trail. Please be
careful of the varying terrains and narrow foot bridges on the way.
Please follow the blue trail makers on the way
in to the cache area, but, make sure you use your GPS to help guide
you on the way out and retrace your footsteps/"bread-crumb" trail.
The trail markers for the return are not set up accurately at this
time. They may NOT lead you out to the correct
area.
Accessing this cache from the road will mean crossing streams, wet
areas and steep terrain.
The Hidden Valley Passage trail is the newest trail in the Marilla
Reservoir Trails system. It is located on a 1.5-mile section of a
late 1800's railroad grade. As noted in the Tuna Valley Trail
Association (TVTA) newsletter: "Except for a few minor repairs, the
unimproved condition of the old grade is a remarkable and a tribute
to those who built it. Another interesting feature is where wodden
trestles carried trains overs small valleys, including Hidden
Valley." The trail roughly parallels West Washington Street (Rt.
346). The lower end of the trail begins behind the Indian Pipe
Trail Kiosk. The upper end is accessed by a path near the top of
the hill on West Washington across from a yellow gated road. Our
