Coppull history trail - Mill and embankment Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Alberto_Balsam: Strange one this - the location's obviously compromised as the log and lid have gone, but the box and a couple of bits along with the disguise container are still there. Weird. Could be the work of wild animals perhaps, but I don't think so. As the location's compromised, I'm archiving the cache.

Geocache Description:

A cache to raise awareness of Coppull's history

Coppull ring mill was built in 1908, a sister mill (Mavis mill) was built in 1910, but has since been demolished. The mill is a fine architectural example of it's kind

The cache is located on an old mineral railway embankment, which used to link the local coal pits to the main line. You can still see some sleepers at both ends of this embankment and a couple of the original telegraph signalling posts are still in place.
