We placed this easy-to-find cache while camping in the Tonto National Forest. You will easily see our campsite from the cache spot. As with all desert caches, be careful of critters that may enjoy the relative cover of the hiding spot. After you sign the log and replace the cache, you may want to mosey down the road a piece to the old corral. There were some horses there the whole weekend when we hid this cache, along with 3 other loose horses and what had to be the largest mule in recorded history. We felt badly that they all had to hang out in the cold rainy weather all weekend, but they certainly enjoyed the pieces of pears we fed them. They returned to our campsite regularly to see if we had more. Somone finally came to round them up. If you venture further down the road past the corral, we recommend 4WD.
