Winfield
City Lake requires a $4.00 dollar recreation permit to visit the
grounds. You can obtain permits at the Lake Office, now located at
the Marina. Please take a moment to visit the website and read the
rules and regulations. The park rangers are very nice and aware of
the Geocaches at the lake. Please display your permit at all
times.
Special thanks to
QuickSilver1 for helping coordinate with the Park Rangers and
keeping up the good public relations.

Timber Creek Spillway
This is my first Ammo Can hide
and I thought this area could use a good sizeable cache. Parking is
available just north of the spillway and can be accessed from 82nd
Road and County Road 158. Some moderate climbing is
required.
Timber Creek Lake, also known
as “Winfield Lake” was formed by dam (75ft high), built
in 1970 by the city of Winfield for flood control and water supply.
Surplus water from the lake feeds the thriving Timber Creek by way
of the Spillway, and is an integral water supply to southeastern
Kansas.
Enjoy the scenery and just
remember, you have 1,130 surface acres of water right above
you...and you are in the drain. Good Luck!
