Accessible via Elgol Beach on the Southern part of the Isle of Skye. Terrain not particularly difficult but walking across rocks required so not accessible via bike.
The cache is contained within a medium-sized tupperware box (23cm long x 16cm wide x 7cm deep). The cache lies at ground-level, hidden in a space beneath a ‘pear-shaped’ boulder, i.e. bulbous at base, narrower at top. The boulder lies in the middle of a 2.5m wide gully situated parallel to the shore and leading up and off the shore. One of the gully walls near the boulder has an orange rusty stain at the bottom. Nearby there is a narrow, blackened, mossy and damp gully which lies perpendicular to the shore. If you stand in the entrance of this gully facing out to sea the ‘pear-shaped’ boulder is 7m away in the 1 o’clock position. Please note that the cache is NOT within the confines of the narrow, blackened, mossy and damp gully. It is also NOT contained within the 2 dry-stone enclosures situated further back along the shore.
