A nice simple cache on the NW edge of Fort Wayne.
I decided to place my first cache near a really interesting building in Fort Wayne. This site is the first US Green Building Council LEED Platinum certified building in North East Indiana, and one of only two in Indiana. (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design). The campus makes use of many energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies, and many recycled or rapidly renewable materials were used during construction.
I've found myself wishing that there were more full sized caches in the Ft. Wayne area. My kids always get more excited about a full sized cache with treasure in it. So this cache is of medium size, around 3 liters in volume. It is somewhat camouflaged but should not be too tough to find given the easy terrain. This area can be busy during business hours, so beware muggles. You should be able to use the terrain around the cache to give yourself some cover. Please do not cache late at night, as you may confuse the security staff.
I stocked the cache with 2 travelbugs, some of my sig items, and some swag. There is an Intel trade show bag, a local band CD, some lanyards, stickers, guitar picks, etc.
The main concourse of the building and food court area are open to the public. So feel welcome to stop in, get a snack, and plan your next cache run. There is free wifi in the food court, but the thermally treated glass blocks GPSr reception indoors.
The two public entrances are on the north side of the building. The main doors are open from 9-8 M-F, 9-7 Sat. The customer service door is open from 9-5 M-F.
