Geocache Description:

A small cache set on the hill of Carreg, overlooking Porth Oer (Whistling Sands). Great views all around from the summit.

Free parking at the National Trust car park at N 52°49.621, W 4°43.741. Signs of quarrying activity can be seen on the hillside. It was the semi precious stone jasper that was once mined here. An information board gives the history of the site which you might find useful.

Go through the gate at the top of the car park to access the path. The land is open access, so follow your GPS to reach the summit. From here you can see almost the whole of Pen Llyn, to the south Aberdaron, and St Tudwals islands and to the north to Yr Eifl. On a clear day Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) can be seen in the distance to the North East.

The cache is a small container with log book and pen. Small TBs and Geocoins should fit OK.
