Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Geocache Description:

This cache is a tribute to MOGA 2009 (mega event GC1DRV3). I encountered this cache type at several "park and grabs" that were very hard to find. The event demonstrated the tenacity of geocachers. Cold rains came in on the day of the event and although miserable weather should have dampened everyone's spirit, most of the attendees said they had a wonderful time. In honor of MOGA, the hard work of the volunteers, and for all those who got stuck in the mud and rain... this cache is for you.

WARNING: Do NOT attempt this cache if you are afraid of heights, have vertigo, or can't walk and chew gum at the same time. The cache is located off a trail system that runs along a cliff area above Shoal Creek. The cache is on a steep slope and extremely well hidden (you can easily see it, but not think it is the cache). The most scenic route is from a nearby paved parking area, but it can be the scariest walk you've taken. You can also take a quicker way in from the alternate parking area just west of the cache and walk down the slope to the cache and mostly avoid the cliff trail. Please be careful and surefooted regardless of the direction you take.
** Log your scary caches **
Cachers sometimes do scary things to get a cache and this will be one of them. When you log the cache, please tell about something scary that has happened to you while caching. Mine happened at MOGA... it rained most of the day of the event causing muddy fields and washed out roads. Many people got stuck in mud and had to be pulled out. My scary adventure occurred when my caching buddy Train1904 and I started up a side road, but then decided to go back. I thought I could just back up, but wasn't paying close attention and ended up going too close to the ditch next to the road. Well, the rainy road gave way and the car ended up with one front wheel precariously on top of a steel culvert and the back wheel barely on sandy ground with NOTHING between the two wheels or underneath the car for that matter as half the road had fallen into the drainage ditch. Train1904 barely got out of the car alive and we were lucky the car didn't flip over as one of the wheels on the opposite side was completely off the ground. As scary as it was we survived with the help of nearby neighbors, friendly geocachers following us, and the nicest tow truck guy who took his time to gradually pull the car to safety. Whew..... please don't tell my wife!
