This is a stand alone cache at Spencer Crest Nature Center, and
holds a clue to the S.C.N.C.S. Finale.
Spencer Crest Nature Center, Inc. in Corning NY is a
not-for-profit organization providing environmental educational and
recreational activities for the greater Corning area. The Center
features 250 acres and seven miles of trails - learn more at

our explorations, we've found that some of the trail maps don't
correspond well with the myriad trails that appear to have cropped
up at the reserve, so cache & hike with care.
This leg of the Spencer Crest Series takes you to the southern
area of the reserve where you'll find the Turtle Pond. When we
placed the cache, we didn't see any turtles, but did find a bunch
of newts/salamanders and other creepy crawlies in the pond. Let us
know if you see any turtles in your log. There is a stream adjacent
to the pond on the western and south sides, and a good geocacher
will find a great hide spot that was intended for this cache, until
we poked around and found a letterbox hide. Check it out, if that's
your thing.
Hide is small lock & lock container, contains logbook, no
pencil. Significant hike to get to the pond.
You will need information from inside the hide to help you find
the fourth and final stage of the S.C.N.C. Multicache.
Enjoy the hunt!
