Geocache Description:

Welcome to Squak Mountain!

Here’s a cache designed by kids, especially for families with kids. Of course, cachers of all kinds are always welcome, but our little ones wanted to make a cache that would be a favorite for families. It’s a Travel Bug funhouse, so we have loaded it up with a nice initial stash of family-friendly goodies and some travel bugs who need to get on the move. Since the listing has Travel Bug in the title, please grab some but try to make sure to leave some trackable bugs or coins as well to keep it fun for the next cacher! Noah and Sofia hope you find it uplifting and kid safe!

The cache is located very close to a favorite trail for kids, the Pretzel Tree Trail that is an easy 0.3 mile loop with interpretive signs featuring a friendly little mouse who guides you through the fun forest jaunt. Among the Issaquah Alps, Squak Mountain is often overshadowed by its more popular neighbors, Cougar Mountain and Tiger Mountain, but it is quite beautiful and offers some wonderful hikes in addition to the children’s trail.

***PLEASE NOTE*** WE HAVE JUST GAINED OUR WASHINGTON STATE PARK GEOCACHING PERMIT AS OF 3/15/2010! Many thanks to the Squak Mountain Ranger for helping with the approval process.

As mentioned, the cache is not far from the Pretzel Tree Trail, and for that reason the immediate area may have its share of curious muggles, especially on weekends. Please use a bit of discretion in these cases, and give a nice conceal after you finish up. Natural forest material will be plentiful nearby!

If you and your family take the tour, you'll see the message of respecting the forest---with that in mind, please hunt with great care. You should not need to step on any vegetation, so please use the hint if you find yourself tromping off into the forest.

Nice work by dsvaughn for the FTF! Woo-hoo!
