This cache is dedicated to my dad who was stationed near here during WWII. As a young American GI, he visited this town and this particular location. He met a beautiful young girl who lived in this town who he would come to visit by hitching a ride on military trucks and on the back of hay wagons. They would visit and walk the streets of this town together until he was sent off to fight in another European campaign. They wrote for a while until they lost touch. Sixty three years later we were able to locate her and my dad began writing to her just as before. They planned to meet again someday but Dad passed away before they had the opportunity to do so.
The cache is a small watertight container and contains a logbook and pencil. During the summer months this peaceful little town becomes a popular destination spot for tourists who want to spend their holidays by the sea.
Questa cache è dedicata a mio padre che era di stanza qui vicino durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Da giovane americano GI, ha visitato questa città e questa particolare località. Ha incontrato una bella ragazza che qui viveva, dove lui era venuto su camion militari e sul retro di carri fieno. Hanno visitato e passeggiato insieme per le strade di questa città fino a che egli è stato mandato a combattere in un'altra campagna europea. Si sono scritti per un po ' fino a quando hanno perso i contatti. Sessantatre anni dopo siamo stati in grado di ritrovarla e mio padre ha iniziato di nuovo a scriverle come prima. Hanno deciso di incontrarsi di nuovo un giorno, ma papà è morto prima di avere avuto l'opportunità di farlo.
La cache è un piccolo contenitore a tenuta d'acqua e contiene un log e una matita.
Durante i mesi estivi, questo tranquillo borgo diventa una popolare meta per i turisti che vogliono trascorrere le loro vacanze al mare.
