Geocache Description:

The Old Colerain Watering Trough...still up and running! Great place to stop and see and taste some history!
*****DONT NEED TO CLIMB ON THE FOUNTAIN TO FIND THE CACHE*****

The spring was erected by Giles Richards back in 1867 and has provided water to travelers and livestock ever since. There are two inscriptions on the trough. the first says
" Stranger and traveler Drink freely and bestow a kindly thought on him who bade this fountain flow"

The second inscription says
"Yet hath no other claim than as the minister of blessing in God's Name Drink and in peace go"

When I was a kid and used to ride my bike past this site there were no signs or placards...just the fountain and the water was cool and fresh! Nice to see that the Township has honored it with a marker.
