This cache is located along the western side of Northwest Bay shore of Lake George on a tiny island close to shore. You'll need a kayak or canoe so its a 5 terrain. The cache is a small container with a special water-proof log so bring a pen. Only a pen or fine point sharpie will write on this log. You will need to leave your kayak to find this one, and it can not be found via land. Plus, the mainland very close to this islet is posted (see photo of sign) as home to Rattlesnakes, so resist going ashore there, stay on the island is our advice. There is an easy spot to disembark from your craft onto the islet to reach the cache. If seeking this via a powerboat be very careful as the water is not deep and rocks are present.
We placed this cache to accompany the other kayak caches found along Northwest Bay. A Colorado 300 w/WAAS was used to place the cache. If conditions are favorable with calm water and little wind it is a wonderful paddle out to Montcalm Point by hugging the shoreline.
Parking and public car top boat launch is just off of Rt 9N at N43 37.522 W73 36.446. Lake George is gin-clear water with abundant fish and water fowl. The day we placed this cache a loon played and called near us.
