The Return of "Lovers Leap" Multi-Cache
OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

This cache is part of my “DEFENDERS of ROXBOROUGH” series. The neighborhood known as Roxborough is unique in many ways. One of those ways is that there are a limited number of entry points to drive into Roxborough. Six in fact. This cache will defend one of those ways to enter Roxborough. If you find all six caches you will become a “Defender of Roxborough”

I grew up not to far from here and played in these woods as a child. The original "Lovers Leap" cache (GCV4ZV) was one of the first caches we ever found. I was saddened to see the original get muggled and then archived.
I have made this a multi cache to make it a little more interesting and hopefully muggle free.
The first stage is near the original location to bring you to see the view. You will be looking for a bottle "Preform" .
The second stage is a little further down the trail. It's a nice walk on a hard pack trail until the last 20ft. Along the way you will see a different view of the Henry Ave. bridge.
You will be looking for an AMMO can, loaded with goodies. I have dropped in a FTF prize. A handmade TOM-873 para-cord lanyard.
The following was borrowed from the original cache page. A little history and some parking locations.
Legend has it that a mighty chief promised his daughter’s hand in marriage to the warrior who could outrun his competitors in a running race. It is said that a “wily, old chieften” ended up winning the race but not the prize. The distraught daughter and her young lover held hands, and plunged to their death below soon after the race.
Another notable event took place on this rock on a moonlit night in May 1847. George Lippard, romancer of the Wissahickon, was married by Indian rites to his young wife.
There are a few parking options for you:
The best place to start this hike is at the Ridge Ave entrance to Fairmount Park (N 40° 00.909 W 075° 12.435). There is no convenient parking here though. When we hiked from this location, we parked .16 mile up the trash strewn hill on Ridge Ave at the Wissahickon train station (sorry, no coords). Remember, it’s free to park at the station on the weekends and evenings ($1 during weekdays). From the Ridge Ave entrance, follow the paved trail on the West side of the creek until it’s time to hike up the hill to the top of the gorge. Both the dirt and the paved trail will take you where you want to go.
You can also park at the Rittenhouse Town parking area: N 40 01.751 W 075 11.398
There is another pull-off parking area on Lincoln Drive very close to the above coordinates at Rittenhouse Town.
From the Rittenhouse parking locations, the paved trail right alongside Lincoln Drive will take you to a bridge to get to the correct side of the creek. Your assent will begin shortly after you cross the bridge.
For a shorter walk and less of a climb, you can park on Henry Ave, on the North side of the bridge. All the college students do.
