Geocache Description:

A surprising site in the middle of nowhere.

Cache is 3rd in a series on the part of the Catamount Trail that goes past the Harriman Dam and the famous Glory Hole. It’s actually an old railroad bed from the late 1800’s. Check out this website for some historical info: (visit link)

After finding That Dam Trail #2, keep going another .18 miles for this one. It’s near a small family cemetery that’s very touching. Dates are from 1826-1844, a mother and several infants, and someone is still putting flowers out here. You can snowshoe or ski out here in winter, but this cache will most likely be buried in snow.

Be sure to read the logs, and FOLLOW THE TRAIL, NOT THE GPS! Once you get past the zigzag early on the trail, it will lead you straight to it. Signal is very tricky out here, but give it time and it should be right on.

Please rehide carefully just as you found it.
