This is the third cache in my finite mathematical series. I am a math teacher by day. I thought a cache series dedicated to math would be a good way to educate the public.
The square is the undisputed king of quadrilaterals. It is a parallelogram, a rhombus, and a rectangle all in one. Its sides and angles are all congruent to the others. Perfection. A square has a larger area than any other quadrilateral with the same perimeter, thus maximizing a length of fence (or whatever). The square is a highly symmetric object having four lines of reflectional symmetry. We call something raised to the second power squared. Area is always in square units. A perfect square is an integer that can be written as the square of some other number. These are just some ways the square shows up in math and geometry.
You will be looking for a cylindrical waterproof match box in, where else, Dutch Square.
Please be sure to replace the way you found it to make it just as challenging (no more, no less) to the next cacher.
