Doctor Adah Platts Mills Reserve. The hidden valley of Maraetai
Update: The ground can be soggy in the wet months. Stay as close to the right as you can for the first part.
I actually found this reserve when looking for a quiet spot to lay up when the beachfront at Maraetai was crowded.
Hardly anybody knows it's there and the native bush walk runs all the way up the valley and back into the residential houses at the peak.
Plenty of Tui and Kereru abound.
Cache is a 400ml Sistema with log book pencil and a few small items. There is enough room for geocoins or small travel bugs.
