Geocache Description:

A travel bug hotel in Harper's Heugh picnic site.

The cache is a large tupperware in a camo bag and we've designated it a travel bug hotel not far off the A1. The site is hidden within Harper's Heugh picnic site. This picnic site is at the northern end of the Northumberland Coastal route which runs from here to 35 miles south. This is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The name Birdland has nothing to with Charlie Parker but just south of here is Budle Bay bird sanctuary which at low tide, is a vast expanse of mud flats and is the home of countless thousands of sea and land birds many of which fly in from around the world to spend summer or winter here.

Nice view to Holy Island (otherwise known as Lindisfarne).
