Geocache Description:

Come and enjoy a great walk along Hayward Lake.
This is the second cache we've place along this great trail so come out and grab them both.

The trailhead is at a parking lot (coordinates included), just past the Ruskin Dam.
Evidence of the historic trestles are the only sign a railway once traveled this route.

Historic Trestles

Along the way you will see great views of the man-made lake that was created when the Ruskin Dam was built in 1930.
You will pass through old growth and second growth forest. There are benches and picnic tables along the route.

Views from along the path

You are looking for a 4x4 lock'n'lock. There is no need to leave the trail to retrieve the cache.
The overhead power lines may affect reception in the area. Hopefully the hint should make this an easy find.

Avid hikers can follow the entire length of Railway Trail for about 7km to the Stave Falls Power Dam. Then the Reservoir Trail runs on the other side of the lake for another 9km.
