This has to be my favorite place in the entire Valley. There is so much to see here if you come at the right time. In the early morning or just as the sun sets is the best time...once you get there and see whats there you might just agree. You can not get any closer than the large turn out so dont try... this is private property (just over the fence) and that just wouldnt be nice. Bring binoculars if you come early or late.
Here you might just see a few of the wonderful creatures that we inhabit this rock with. This area is the natural migrating grounds for some of the biggest Elk you have ever seen in this area. They come to this area often. Ther are also a lot of deer and rabits and dont just look at the waters edge...look aournd as well. Ive seen a few Cyotes and once saw a Mountain Lion and a bear at different times here.
Take a moment to sit there in the "quiet" and think why someone would like this place. It truely is clamin with the sounds of the huge bull frogs croaking and the crickets and birds doing their thing.
If you happen to be allergic to bees please be careful of the large oak that is mear the turn out. There is a hive in this tree way up that I spotted. Its hard to see but its there...it is a hollow oak that still contains life as well as a family of squirrels...check it out on poked its head out at me to say hi when I was walking by it...rather cute!....oh and be careful for snakes too...I didnt see any but tis the season!
Welcome to another wonderful gem that my home town has to offer!
