Tommy Macaione Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bob8bear: We verified our suspensions and the cache is missing, again. We have run out spots to hid a cache that we felt would be secure, so we have decided to take this one down. This would be a great location for a virtual cache. Thanks for visiting and keeping Tommy's spirit alive.

Geocache Description:

We can remember seeing Tommy Macaione standing on a street corner near the Santa Fe Plaza with his easel, a paint brush in his hand and a dog or two at his feet while he painted. Don't remember him ever being famous or well known for his artwork while he was alive, but he was well know by City Hall, who seemed to make a fuss over all the dogs he rescued. After his death the City dedicated this park in his honor along with a statue of him, his easel, and his dog.

Visit the link below to learn more about his life and the value of his paintings today. He certainly could have used the money while he was alive. (visit link)
