Geocache Description:

Camo'd 35 MM Film canister - Attached to each log is some interesting information about the year for which the cache is named. Perhaps you too can remember something exciting from that year and add it to your log…. And if you were too young (or not yet born) add some history that you do know about that year to your logs.

This starts the next walking series. From here to 1999 it is all sidewalk again. There is parking here at Windward Ridge Way, and at the other end at the Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve park entrance. All caches will be on the same side of the street.

1991: Being a NAUI Underwater Photo Instructor pays off. It allows me to take my 14 year old son on a Photo shoot to Cozumel along with 22 other U/W photographers. The Gulf War kicked off the week we were there, was weird to come back from diving each day and watch CNN showing us bombing the heck out of IRAQ. Our daughter’s soccer team does car washes, sells candies, raffles, etc… and raises enough to send the entire team and volunteers to the “Hawaii Rainbow Tournament”, or first trip to the island (Maui). While there son (14 yrs) and I got a day of diving and came across an 8’ White Tipped Reef shark, took lots of U/W shots, then it decided it had enough of us and left – then he came back and we decided he had enough - we left.

It’s good for the heart, body, mind, and soul to get out in the clean air and walk. These series of caches are intended for just that – getting you off the couch and out walking for caches. They are easy finds, so beginners will have fun, so will kids, and for us experienced cachers, another excuse to walk for the numbers.
