Tytherington Triangle - Four Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Punch & Partner: Time to put this series to bed. Footpaths not so good now and a lot more troublesome cattle in fields.

Geocache Description:

Fifteen caches and a final located over a walk of about 6 miles through the countryside surrounding Tytherington, which can be completed as one circuit or two shorter walks. The final cache can only be found by getting clues from the caches along the way. The route is along footpaths, bridleways and quiet roads, but as several stiles and gates have to be negotiated its not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Tytherington is situated in South Gloucestershire, near Thornbury. It was designated as a conservation area in 1975. It is widely known for its limestone quarries and there are several disused ones around the village. The village retains much of its rural character enhanced by its setting of wooded slopes and vistas across the open countryside and is the ideal place for a spot of caching!

Suggested Kit:

Appropriate footwear – parts of the route will get muddy when wet

Pen/pencil – some of the caches are micros and don’t have writing implements in them

GPS – goes without saying ;-)

Map – optional, but would be sensible

Please read all the cache details before setting out as guidance and additional waypoints have been provided where appropriate.

Parking coordinates are given on Tytherington Triangle One, but there are plenty of other opportunities for parking on this lane. Please be considerate of the residents and do not block passing places.

On a good day the River Severn can be spotted on this part of the route.

NOTE: Co-ordinates changed 14/07/15 to match new position. See maintenance log of same date. For those not wishing to continue on the circular route at this point return the way you came to the road junction by No 1 and then head for No 5

06/09/2015 PLEASE NOTE

At the end of November it is our intention to archive this series as it currently stands.

However should anyone be interested in taking it over please contact us.
