Where: The Cat & Fiddle Inn, Clyst St Mary, Nr. Exeter,
Devon. EX5 1DP. (01392) 873317.
When: Wednesday 13th May 2009, from 6pm until closing
time.
Why: To meet up with fellow cachers, to talk about
caching, exchange ideas, exchange travel bugs and coins and
possibly even get some hints on local devious puzzles! You can also
ask several Mega Event committee members about the UK Mega Event on
August 9th in Weston-super-Mare.
What else?: The skittle alley area has been reserved for
us. The best entrance door to use is the back door to the pub,
furthest from the road. This brings you right in to the area where
we will all be.
The Cat & Fiddle is a 16th Century Freehold Inn with a large
car park and childrens play area. The pub opens at 6pm and has a
selection of real ales, wines and an extensive food menu. Well
behaved dogs are allowed in the skittle alley area where we
will all be.
Please indicate in your "Will Attend" log if you intend to
eat and how many of you there are. Food doesn't need to be ordered
in advance, but the kitchen might appreciate the warning if there
are a lot of us eating.
Additional info added 10th May 2009 Good afternoon cachers!
I estimate that there will be between 40 and 50 people coming along
which is really excellent. As you may know the UK Mega event this
summer is in Weston-super-Mare. There will some committee members
in attendance at this event, so if you have any questions to ask
about the Mega please feel free to ask away! It would be really
good if we can get a few more people aware of the mega so they can
sign up when they get back home.
There will be a fundraising raffle and I will be bringing a
handful of prizes along, including a ready to go fully loaded
lock'n'lock regular sized cache. All proceeds will go to the cost
of hosting the mega event (which is costing many thousands of
pounds).
There will also be a small number of travel bug tags available for
sale which I managed to buy at a big discount last year. These will
be £6 each to take away on the night. £5 from each tag goes to the
Mega funds. The other £1 is just under what they cost to buy.
See you soon!
