Geocache Description:


Thatcham is a town dating back to the Mesolithic people,10,000 years ago(8,000BC) and is possibly one of the countries most ancient continuously settled towns. The cache is located in an area that up to the mid 80's was open fields to the Station south of this cache.Close by is Thatcham House a Victorian house built in 1857 for the then vicar of Thatcham and is a listed building.Parking is available closeby and there is a small children's playpark near at hand (N51 23.860 & W 001 14.862).The cache is located just off a footpath/Cycle track.The Kennet School is close by and it celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2007 and is a highly regarded comprehensive school in the area.Popular walk with dog walkers-so watch out for spoilers and mugglers.Make sure the cache is well hidden.Good hunting.
