Geocache Description:

The cache is located on the Evans Gully trail on Lone Star College-Kingwood property. Park by the tennis courts. The trailhead is 150 ft. north on Sorters Rd. The cache is on the north side of the gully so take the trail on the north side. Don't take the trail on the south side or you will have to cross the gully, which isn't easy to do. It is a 10 minute, 0.4 mile hike. Poison ivy and mosquitos are abundant. The trail can be muddy after a good rain. The original container disappeared so I had to replace it. The container is now a camouflaged soda tube, log only. Bring your own pen. Signs of beaver activity still exist nearby (trails, felled trees). I had to relocate the cache because of future construction work to be done on the trails. Hopefully, the new location will not be affected by the construction. The cache is located on a small hill covered with palmetto plants, about 50 feet off of the trail. You may have to cross over standing water after a heavy rain. Look for a new stump art sculpture that has been created near the cache (looks like a beaver to me). The sculpture is located on the trail right at the point where you start bushwacking to get to the cache. The beavers have built a small dam across the gully just upstream from the stump sculpture (07/08/2011).

Congratulations to harsensis for being FTF!
